What could be better than a Margarita mixed with Beer? Easy Beergaritas are the perfect 3-ingredient drink for enjoying (or suffering through) the Superbowl!
Table of Contents
What’s in a Beergarita?
You only need 3 ingredients to make this amazing drink! There’s nothing better than an easy co*cktail you can throw together so you don’t miss a thing while watching the game.
- Frozen Limeade Concentrate: This is the trick to making this recipe super quick. Just add water and mix the limeade together.
- Light Beer: You can really use any beer you like, but I prefer to use a light beer to create a nice flavor balance.
- Tequila: Use a good quality tequila.
Pro Tip: Toss everything in a blender with some ice cubes for frozen beer margaritas!
Variations on Beer Margaritas
These beer margaritas are easy to throw together and endlessly riff-able! Try swapping half of the limeade concentrate for orange juice concentrate, pink lemonade concentrate, grapefruit juice concentrate, or raspberry lemonade concentrate! Or, try mango or guava nectar. For spicy beergaritas, add a diced jalapeño!

Where can I find frozen limeade concentrate?
Frozen limeade concentrate can be found in the frozen aisle of most grocery stores near the frozen fruit.
What’s the best tequila for beer margaritas?
A silver or blanco tequila is best for margaritas. Silver/blanco tequila hasn’t been aged as long and has a stronger flavor that mixes well, while gold tequila has been aged for longer and has a woodier flavor that doesn’t pair as well with the fresh fruit flavors. Reposado tequila is a type of gold tequila that has not been aged for as long, so it will also work in a margarita, although it is not my first choice!
Do I have to use a light beer to make beer margaritas?
Nope! You can use any beer you like in this recipe, although I recommend sticking with a lighter beer, such as an IPA or pilsner. Dark, amber, and brown beers are too nutty and rich for a margarita.
Can I make beer margaritas ahead of time?
Yes! You can prep these beer margaritas up to 1 day in advance. Simply stir all of the ingredients together (but don’t add any ice!) and chill in the refrigerator.
How to Make Ahead and Store Beergaritas
You can prep these beer margaritas up to 1 day in advance of when you plan to serve them. Simply stir all of the ingredients together (but don’t add any ice!) and chill in the refrigerator. Store leftover beergarita mix in the refrigerator for up to 1 day.
How to Freeze a Margarita with Beer
For longer storage, you can freeze these beer margaritas. Because they contain alcohol, they will not freeze solid. You can store frozen beer margaritas in an airtight container for up to 2 weeks. Let thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
What to Serve with a Beer Margarita
These beer margaritas are even better when paired with the best appetizers and Mexican food! Serve yours with beer cheese dip, sheet pan chicken nachos, baked chicken wings, taquitos, chicken enchilada dip, or sheet pan quesadillas!
