Exploration Day 4: Sun-Speckled Terrace - Aquiferous Summit Cave and Dandori Day Care Cave - Pikmin 4 Guide - IGN (2024)

Welcome to IGN's Pikmin 4 Wiki Guide! This step-by-step walkthrough will take you through each day to 100% completion. On this page, you can find information on how to approach Day 4 of the Emergency Mission: Rescue the Rescue Corps including details on finding crucial Treasures, missing crew members, and more.

All Rescues, Treasures, and Sublevel Caves: Day 4

Below is a quick summary of all the treasures and rescues you'll be able to find on this day. You can find the step-by-step Walkthrough on how to do this further down the page.

Starting Day 4 - At the Rescue Command Post

After completing Exploration Day 3, you'll have a few more people that have joined the Rescue Command Post. The crew will talk about the Leaflings you've found, and Dingo will explain that the one you've saved could be the Pilot, Bernard. To cure them, you'll need to find Yonny, the Doctor.

Before you set off for Exploration Day 4 you'll want to:

• Speak to Dingo. This will begin the Side Quest: Investigate Areas 1.
• Speak to Kingsly. This will begin the Side Quest: Set the World Abloom.
• Speak to Captain Sheperd to train Oatchi. We'd recommend getting Super Buff LV.1 and Rush Lv. 2.
• Speak to Russ. Collect the Prototypes for the Ice Blast. Purchase the Sorch Guard and Scorch Guard for Oatchi if you have enough Raw Material.

Although the Blossoming Arcadia will have opened up at this point as you'll have acquired 1500 Sparklium, there's more to do on the Sun-Speckled Terrace so make your way back there.

Back at the Sun-Speckled Terrace

When you get out all of your Pikmin, make sure you have 30 Ice Pikmin for the next step. Go over to the water in the south next to the base, and throw the 30 Ice Pikmin into the water to freeze it.

Cross the frozen water with your Pikmin and Oatchi, and go to the left, to create the climbing wall.

While the Pikmin run back and forth, take Oatchi over to the ledge with the flower and jump up there with him. Disband the group, so Oatchi stays there, then go back over to the Ice Pikmin.

As soon as the climbing wall is completed, Whistle for the Ice Pikmin and run over to the climbing wall. You can take all 40 of your Pikmin up to the top. Take down the creature, then head over to the corner to excavate the Blue Onion.

Found Blue Onion

The Pikmin will take this as far as the ledge that Oatchi should be waiting on, then they won’t be able to cross. Whistle for everyone, and send your 30 Ice Pikmin back into the water to freeze it.

Get Oatchi to drag the Blue Onion across the frozen water, and when it arrives at the onion it will fuse allowing you to bring out Blue Pikmin.

You can only have 3 types of Pikmin out at one time when you’re on the surface, so send some of your Red or Yellow Pikmin back into the onion and pull out the Blue Pikmin.

The flowers around you will immediately start producing Blue pellets that you can use to increase your amount of Blue Pikmin. Send the Blue Pikmin into the water and the rest of the Pikmin to the pellets to increase your Blue Pikmin numbers. You can then use these to tackle the fish in the water and pick up all the Raw Material in there.

When you're done, head back to the bridge you built that will take you up to the north of the area. If you didn’t already defeat the dotty creatures, you’ll see them patrolling here but ignore them for now and go to the right. Here you can find a Treasure buried in the dirt, so use Oatchi or Yellow Pikmin if you have them out to excavate it.

Continue up the slope, defeat the dotty creatures if you haven’t already, and at the top of the slope you’ll find your next cave.

Aquiferous Summit

Break the Hydro Jelly to the right as you start. Then go left and cross the frozen water. Break this Hydro Jelly to get more Ice Pikmin, and then transport the Raw Material back to the S.S. Beagle.

When you're done, use your Whistle to collect the Ice Pikmin freezing the water, and return to the S.S. Beagle. Now use 10 Ice Pikmin to freeze the water over to the pipe that will take you to the second level.

Break the Hydro Jelly on the left and pick up the Treasure.

Talisman of Life (Crane)

Aquiferous Summit Sublevel 2

Go left here and break the Hydro Jelly you come to on the left. While this is happening, send your Red Pikmin to extinguish the fire on the right. When the floor is extinguished, climb the stairs, have 10 Pikmin lower the Paper Bag, and then go left.

Break the Hydro Jelly that blocks the entrance to this room and get the Raw Materials from it. Head towards the Treasure hanging above, then pluck the Ice Pikmin from the ground. Break the second Hydro Jelly, throw a Pikmin at the switch to lower the Iron Gates, then have Pikmin pull the Treasure from above and take it back.

Skin of the Phoenix

Go through the iron gate and back up the Paper Bag to the puzzle piece Treasure and the mound of Gold Nuggets. Have the Pikmin transport these two Treasures back to the S.S. Beagle and then assign the rest to build the ramp on the right that will take you up to the end of the level.

Break the hydro Jelly here to find the Castaway and transport them back to the S.S. beagle. A quick scan of their ID badge reveals them to be Dalmo.

Completing the Aquiferous Summit

Here's a summary of everything you should've completed in the Aquiferous Summit to finish it 100%.

As you exit the cave, be sure to take out 20 Ice Pikmin when arranging your team. You’ll be facing the fourth and final base for the area. Activate the base and get 10 Pikmin to push the Paper Bag down on the right. Go towards the Porquillion and use the same tactic as you did in the Prologue to defeat it.

This will drop a Treasure, so have your Pikmin retrieve it.

Talisman of Life (Moon)

Then go to the right of this mini-arena and drop down on the ledge. Turn right and rush twice at the bottom of the ledge where the next Treasure sits to knock it down.

Fire-Breathing Feast

Have the Pikmin carry this off, then turn and face the other way and drop down onto the pot below to find the next treasure.

Snack Bean

Once you have these, you're going to head back over to where you collected the Yellow Onion on the west side of the area. There's a gap in the wall you can drop down so you're right by the water and the last cave.

Use the 20 Ice Pikmin to freeze the water and jump over to reach the final cave of the Sun-Speckled Terrace.

Dandori Day Care

For this challenge, you'll need to gather all of the items and creatures in the area within the time limit. Here's how we did it:

Go forward and take down the spotted creature. Pick up the Red Pikmin here, then go left and straight towards the grass. Use your Whistle to collect the Red Pikmin hiding in the grass, then turn around and go up the slope of the structure on the other side.

As you climb to the top, send 5 Pikmin towards the climbing rope on the right and then rush towards the breakable pots. There are more Red Pikmin inside. Go left and collect the fruit, then assign all but 3 Pikmin to collect the gold nuggets.

Drop down and get the 3 Pikmin to attack the 2 dotted creatures. Then go forward and Whistle to grab the Red Pikmin high above. Attack the creature that the group of Pikmin are fighting, and then this is over, jump up the stairs on the right and take down the 2 small dotted creatures.

You'll now have all the Pikmin on the level. Go back to where you started and break down the wall, then assign the Pikmin and Oatchi to collect the remainder of the treasures and creatures in this area. Oatchi is best suited to digging up the buried one in the corner.

Once you have all these cleared, go to where the large dotted creature is and attack with all the Pikmin and Oatchi. Pull the plant pot out so you've got a shortcut, and assign 12 Pikmin to get the Jam Jar. Send the rest (and Oatchi) to transport the gold nuggets.

You should be able to get the maximum amount of points with time to spare.

When you exit the cave, have 3 Pikmin take the Leafling back to the S.S. Beagle (make sure the base you use is the closest one to the cave). This will being you to 100% exploration of the Sun-Speckled Terrace, completing the Side Mission: Investigate Areas 1. Return back to the Rescue Command Post and get ready for Day 5!
