GPA of 3.2 or higher is advised for acceptance to RIT. Acceptance willbe determined by RIT. GPA of 2.0 is required for MCC graduation.


NOTE:
The ProgramDirector at RIT is happy to meet with students and further discuss theprogram and options.Please do not hesitate to reach out.
Students planning tocomplete the MS in Dietetics and Nutrition will be most competitive ifthey obtain a B or higher in science courses.
It is strongly advised to complete CHMB 402 at RIT before transferring.It is offered on-line and can be taken in the summer.

- Students will be required to complete two semesters of co-ops upon transferringto RIT if an Associate's degree is achieved or they transfer at least 60credits. If not, 3 co-ops will be required. These are typically completedduring the summer.

- With required course sequences and prerequisites, transfer students mustcomplete a minimum of 4 semesters at RIT. A Dietetic Internship is no longerrequired for a student to sit for the Registered Dietitian Nutritionistexam. Instead, students complete an accredited master’s program. RIT hasan accredited masters program and an accelerated track for students topotentially complete the nutritional sciences BS and an MS degree in fiveyears. NutritionalSciences website.

- Students cannot repeat core coursework more than one time. Students repeatingthese courses more than once will have their grade point average recalculatedto include these courses in their overall GPA.

MCC ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Advising is mandatory. Students must consult with an advisor prior to courseregistration. The counsel and consent of the student’s advisor is importantin the final selection.
Students must complete at least one 200-level course to satisfy the degreerequirements.
Students must complete at least one SUNY General Education course thatfulfills a SUNY Critical Thinking and Reasoning Competency (CTRN).

The Liberal Arts A.S. (LA04) will be the degree student is audited againstand awarded from MCC.
